Every animal is cared for by the great staff in the Arnold’s Wildlife Rehabilitation Center (AWRC). Along with rescuing the wild animals, the sanctuary is also an educational center to bring awareness to the public about the importance of wildlife preservation. AWRC is located in northern Okeechobee at 14895 NW 30^th Terrace, Okeechobee, FL 34972. The center is supported through a monetary donation through their Paypal account. In addition donations of any items suitable for helping the animals in their recovery and daily lives are appreciated.

Built in 1907, the old schoolhouse is a charming part of the museum. The museum is dedicated to the history and artifacts of the early settlers as well as the local American-Indian tribes.

• The park is established as a tribute to the local members of the armed forces who lost their lives defending the motherland. There is a Wall of Honor in recognition of the veterans of WWI,  WWII, Korea, Vietnam as well the most recent Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Veteran Memorial Park is also the resting place for a selection of US Military weaponry. The collection of weapons includes a Huey Helicopter, the mighty M60 Tank, a 40mm ack-ack anti-aircraft gun, and more.

Upon arrivals, visitors notice and feel how community-oriented the entire polo club operates. The family atmosphere is noticeable in Port Mayaca Polo Club. All these are not by accident since the founder, Steve Othwein Sr. initially envisioned creating such an environment. Mr. Orthwein’s love and dedication to the sport of polo have been instrumental in the success of the club. He previously held important positions in the United States Polo Association including the Secretary, President, and Chairman.
