Historic places like San Marco Hotel, Venice Hotel, and Orange Blossom Garage have been instrumental in shaping the architecture of Venice, Florida. The Orange Blossom Garage is actually a theater with an interesting history. In 1927, the building opened with the Sinclair Gas and Oil Station, auto repair shops, car storage, and other shops.

From the 1930s through 1972 the Orange Blossom Garage buildings were occupied by Kentucky Military Institute, KMI. In 1972, a community-based organization by the name of Venice Little Theater purchased the building. Eventually, in 1983 the Venice Little Theater was established as an important performing art center named Venice Theater. Today’s Venice Theater is considered a nationally renowned theater ranked #1 in the country among 10,000 community theaters for towns comparable in size.
