Perhaps one of the best things to do in Indiatlantic is to relax and do nothing. As a result, this is not a place for big shopping malls or resorts. There are very few high-rise condominiums or hotels. Subsequently, the town is comprised of predominately single-family homes. Visitors can stay in a bed and breakfast or Airbnb type places. If resort style hotels are the preference then stay in a larger metropolitan area within a few miles of Indiatlantic. Cities like Melbourne are approximately 3.1 miles away or a 7 minute drive.

That said, the idea of visiting and staying in Indialantic is to enjoy the peace and quiet lifestyle. If one understands the spirit of life in this town there is no need to look at other places. Locals who want to get away from touristy areas can come to relax and enjoy themselves. You won’t find a huge souvenir shop with a large shark statue in Indialantic. Local restaurants are some of the best in the region without belonging to big chains. Spending some time in the small shops is a fun experience. Extremely friendly shopkeepers offer unique merchandise in their small boutiques.  In conclusion, one of the best highlights is strolling down the Indialantic Boardwalk. This is a true can’t-miss experience if you are looking for a getaway from it all vacation.

Take A Stroll On The Indialantic Boardwalk

Indialantic boardwalk is approximately 5 blocks offering stunning views of the beach. It is overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and located where State Road 92 ends at 5th Ave.  Experiencing sunset on the Indialantic Boardwalk is worth the trip by itself. The park and beach location are a great compliment to the boardwalk. There are plenty of parking spaces with metered parking. An annual Boardwalk Triathlon is held each year. Recently the event was held in the month of August.

Beaches of Indiatlantic

Life for residents in Indialantic is like being on vacation every day of the year. The town has a gorgeous ocean view. Beaches are miles of clean white sand combined with clear water views. Entering the town the first vibe visitors encounter is relaxed and friendly residents. There is no rush hour traffic or other time sensitive events. Indiatlantic residents lifestyle is centered around the beaches and beach parks. Although Indiatlantic is a very small town it has the only dog-friendly beach in the entire county.

Dog-Friendly Beach in Brevard County

Canova Beach Park – Brevard County covers nearly 75 miles of beaches. The park is the only designated dog-friendly beach in the County. Dogs need to be on a leash and in owners’ control at all times. All pets are also required to be registered and tagged. Each pet owner is responsible for picking up after their dogs. This is mandatory and followed by dog owners. Therefore, their are ample waste bags along with many disposal stations.

Canova Beach Park occupies 9.1 acres spanning the Atlantic Ocean coastline. Families can enjoy a picnic area outfitted with BBQ grills. In addition, the Park offers ample amenities and is equipped with restroom and changing room facilities. Visitors can enjoy surfing, fishing, or simply a relaxed day at the beach.

James H. Nance Park, Indialantic

The popular Fifth Ave Boardwalk is part of the James H. Nance Park in Indialantic. A Seagrape-covered Boardwalk offers different entrances to the beach. The park offers ample amenities including a playground with bathroom facilities. Volleyball courts are setup on the beach with spectator seating.

The beach area and use of the park’s amenities are open to the public. Parking spots are metered with no entrance fees. Considering all the amenities this is a low cost to visit James H. Nance Park. When we visited the Park, the cost was $1.25 per hour. All meters were coin-operated only.  The James H. Nance Park is located at:

James H. Nance

The land where the Park is located was donated by famed attorney James H Nance. Mr. Nance was a local celebrity attorney known for his charitable activities. He gained national attention as one of the attorneys spearheading the lawsuit against tobacco companies. Ironically, Mr. Nance was a former smoker and cancer survivor. James H. Nance passed away on August 21, 2021, at age of 90.

Meet the artists from all over the nation presenting their creations at this festival. Every year the Indiatlantic Art Festival presents a wide variety of paintings, sculptures, and multimedia. Most art work is available for purchase. An independent panel approves the applications for the artists. The talented artists and crafters represent Florida and many other States.

The Indiatlantic Art Festival is held every March in James H. Nance Park. Admission is free for residents and visitors. The Park is located at:

Indiatlantic Craft Festival

Held annually in July, the Indiatlantic Craft Festival represents many handmade creations by US crafters. Stroll through the different displays and mingle with artists and craftsmen. Enjoy the art of creating artisan painting, pottery, and hand-crafted jewelry. The event takes place in James H. Nance Park alongside the Atlantic Ocean. Indiatlantic Craft Festival is a one-day event held on a Sunday in July. Summer green market is included in the Indiatlantic Craft Festival.
